Cheryl-Ann Lyon
I am an Accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work using a person-centred approach, working with adults, young people and couples. Person centred therapy places the client at the heart of therapy, using the therapist as a therapeutic tool in order to help support the client. I believe that every one of us as the innate ability to solve our own problems.
By receiving the right support, environment without judgement in a confidential setting, a person can then take the time to access their own life in order to make any changes that they then wish to make. This is when their own personal journey and growth can start to take place.
My Experience
I feel honoured and privileged to be able to have this career. Since qualifying in 2014, I worked for St Joseph’s family centre which is situated in the heart of Warrington, Cheshire. There I worked with adults and young people from all walks of life and genders, providing support with anxiety, depression, bereavement, trauma and transgender related issues. I later worked for Altrincham Family Centre in Hale. I have also worked within the Residential Child Care industry, supporting children in care from the age of 8 years old.
I give my time freely to Pathway Counselling Service, serving the community of Warrington through their many day to day challenges. I also spent some time volunteering for (CGL) Change, Grow and Live, Pathway to Recovery supporting clients with substance related problems.
I offer an initial free 15-minute telephone conversation to discuss what you are hoping to get out of therapy and consider ways forward.
