Dr Laura Alcock

Clinical Psychologist in London and Milton Keynes

I am a Senior Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).  I have over 10 years experience working within the National Health Service and private practice and I now work exclusively in private practice. I work across the lifespan seeing clients of all ages with a range of emotional, mental health and behavioural difficulties.

My Experience

My work in private practice has afforded me the opportunity to work with children, young people, and adults with a range of difficulties including, challenging behaviour, depression, anxiety, panic, OCD, bipolar disorder, trauma, emotional regulation difficulties, stress and self-esteem. I work using an integrative style, drawing multiple treatment models including CBT, ACT, CFT, DBT, and Trauma Focused CBT. I also have experience working in more generic child, adolescent and adult mental health services, as well as adult neuro-rehabilitation services. I offer assessment and treatment for the purposes of understanding difficulties and developing a treatment plan.

A great deal of my experience to date has been focused on neurodevelopment conditions across the lifespan including Autism, ADHD and learning disabilities, working in both therapeutic and diagnostic services. I am able to offer modified therapeutic interventions to support clients to understand their diagnosis of neurodevelopmental difficulties and related difficulties.
