My Experience

I have over 15 years post-qualification experience, working in the public, private and third sector, both in the UK and abroad, offering services to working age adults and older adults. I have specialised in both neuropsychology (General and Stroke specialism), and Womens Mental Health.

I have contributed chapters to seminal Dramatherapy textbooks, a chapter on Womens Mental Health and currently writing a book for Taylor Francis on Performers Mental Health given my background in acting and performing. I have worked with some of the UK leading Drama schools to promote mental health and am affiliated with BAPAM. I believe in routinely updating my knowledge and providing the best possible treatments to my clients.

My passion has always been mental health promotion working to encourage individuals to manage mental health throughout their lives, to prevent onset or relapse. I am also passionate about group work and in my last post was lead for setting up and developing groups. Groups provide unique opportunities for learning, normalisation and empathy.

Having worked in the Middle East for 5 years I have worked extensively with expats and locals, working with interpreters and have experience of working with women and couples from across the globe. This has provided me with unique insight into cultural and transition issues and my first degree was in Anthropology and Archaeology.

I wear two hearing aids and thus have awareness of disability issues and am currently learning sign language.
