Claudia De Cesare
I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professionals Council (HCPC) and a Systemic Family Psychotherapist registered with the UK Council of Psychotherapy (UKCP). I work with adults, children and families to help them understand and manage a wide range of emotional difficulties. I use a range of evidence-based psychological therapies, including Systemic Family Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, to help people improve their quality of life.
I am an approachable and empathic therapist who is committed to working with clients to help them develop skills and make positive changes that will reduce their emotional distress. I have a particular interest in supporting families navigate the stresses brought by life cycle transitions and help improve relational and communication difficulties.
My Experience
I have over 20 years of post-qualification experience, working in the public, private and third sector, both in the UK and abroad, offering services across the lifespan. Over the past 15 years, I have worked in the NHS in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services and Medical Paediatric Services, offering a highly specialist psychological service to children, adolescents and families.
I have extensive experience of working with children and young people experiencing mental health and emotional difficulties and supporting families in the process, including situations where there are adjustment needs to neurodevelopmental or physical health conditions.
I have extensive experience working with individuals, couples and families where a relational lens helps understand and improve emotional distress.
